This week marks an important milestone in the pandemic with new vaccines being given to patients for first time.Meanwhile, new cases in USA reach level of “uncontrolled spread.”

With the first safety-reviewed vaccines being administered in Britain, this week will hopefully be remembered as a turning point in the coronavirus pandemicbut the US new case numbers are still daunting. The two-shot coronavirus vaccine developed by Pfizer/BioNTech appears to be on the cusp of American regulatory clearance, after a clinical study this week confirmed the vaccine meets the standard for emergency use authorization. One headline this week: Before the Pfizer vaccine proved successful in clinical trials, the Trump Administration supposedly turned down repeated chances to expand its pre-order beyond the 100 million doses it agreed to buy last summer.
